EarthFirst Canada Appoints Linda Chambers President and CEO

EarthFirst Canada Inc. ("EarthFirst") (TSX: EF, EF.WT. is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Chambers to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2, 2008. Mrs. Chambers brings an extensive background to the role from 11 years at TransAlta Corporation, including President of TransAlta's U.S. Operations and Executive Vice-President of Generation Technology with fleetwide responsibilities in Australia, Mexico the United States and Canada.

At TransAlta, Mrs. Chambers had responsibilities for Project Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Human Resources functions in a variety of roles. Mrs. Chambers' experience has provided her with a strong background in hydro, wind, coal, gas-fired and geothermal power generation. A considerable aspect of her portfolio included strategic fleet planning and new technologies, focusing on addressing emissions and environmental policy issues. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree and completed the Queen's University Executive Management program.

Company founders, Mr. Ron Percival and Mr. Robert Toole, will continue to be actively involved in the Company’s continued growth and strategic direction as Vice Chairmen of the Board of Directors. It is anticipated that Mrs. Chambers will join the Board of Directors.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. David Erskine, Chairman of the Board of Directors said “We are indeed fortunate to have someone of Linda’s talents and experience join EarthFirst. She will lead the company as we complete the construction of our 144 Megawatt Dokie I, wind energy project in the Peace River region of northeast British Columbia. In addition, we will be aggressively pursuing the commercialization of the rest of our 2,500 MW wind power development pipeline across Canada, including two other fully permitted projects ready to be bid into the recently announced Clean Power Call in British Columbia.”
