EarthFirst Canada Inc. (“EarthFirst”) (EF, EF.WT; TSX) is pleased to announce that it has placed an order with Vestas-Canadian Wind Technology Inc. for 48 of its V90-3.0 MW wind turbines to be installed at EarthFirst’s 144 MW Dokie Ridge project located in the Rocky Mountain foothills of the Peace River region in north-eastern British Columbia, Canada.

The Dokie Ridge project is expected to be one of the first wind power project installed in British Columbia and is expected to be on-line in time to help supply the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver with clean, renewable energy.

Vestas is the world’s largest supplier of commercial scale wind turbines. The company has installed over 33,500 wind turbines in 63 countries on 5 continents.

Commenting on the announcement, Ron Percival, President of EarthFirst said “We are very pleased to have the largest wind project in British Columbia entering into construction and appreciate the support of BC Hydro, BCTC, the Government of British Columbia, impacted First Nations and all other stakeholders in seeing the Dokie Ridge wind energy project become a reality”.
