About Us

EarthFirst's vision is to be a premier independent developer, builder, owner and operator of renewable energy projects in Canada. The Corporation is focused on growth in renewable power generation, strong governance, operational excellence, environmental stewardship and generating attractive returns for shareholders.

EarthFirst Canada Inc. is a leading developer of renewable wind energy, with a diversified platform of construction-ready and development-stage projects across Canada totalling over 2,500 MW in potential capacity. EarthFirst's management team has extensive experience in financing, developing, constructing and operating windpower projects. The Corporation's most advanced development stage projects are:

  1. Dokie I Project at Dokie Ridge in North Eastern BC. The project has full environmental certification and a 20 year 144 MW power purchase agreement with BC Hydro awarded in the summer of 2006. The Dokie Ridge is located adjacent to the Bennet Dam, BC Hydro's largest hydro electric facility. This provides the project with local road and rail access, immediate interconnect to the hydro grid as well as operating synergies with the hydro facility. Construction scheduled to begin in 2008.
  2. Grand Valley Project is located approximately 15 kilometres west of Orangeville, Ontario and has been awarded 20-year fixed price electrical purchase agreement with Ontario Power Authority for 30MW of windpower. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2009.

In addition, EarthFirst Canada Inc. is currently the only company with two additional wind projects in British Columbia with full environmental certification in place ready for BC Hydro's 2008 Clean Power Call. These two projects, the "Wartenbe Project" and the "Dokie Expansion Project", are also located in the Peace River region in northeast British Columbia, and represent an aggregate of 226.5 MW in potential capacity. British Columbia is a jurisdiction with top-ranked wind resources and other operational efficiencies, and provides a highly supportive legislative framework for windpower developers.
